Out of Sight, Out of Mind? (Tracking Challege Day 8)

Hi Friends!!

Today was a great day!  I went to "baby son" Dominic's dorm to pick him up for lunch!!  He is all finished with classes and only has finals later in the week so he called and wanted to do lunch.  I am always up for lunch with my kids!  We went to O'Charlies and I just love their California Chicken Salad.  I opted for the larger serving and split in in 1/2 when it arrived at the table.  I was told if you do that right away, and put it right into a take out container, then that helps if you don't want to eat the whole serving.  I was satisfied enough that I didn't even dig into the other half!  Out of sight, out of mind.  This reminded me of an experiment that I read about years ago, where they took a group of adults to a restaurant and ordered them all the same breakfast.  The entire group ate almost everything on their plates.  A week later, they took them to the same restaurant, ordering the same breakfast but put blind folds on them and told them to stop when they were full.  Every person left about half of the food on their plate.  That really says something for our sense of sight.  Maybe I should be eating every meal with a blindfold?! :)

Here are my food choices for today........

Thanks for putting up with me flooding my posts with my food diary each day.  Knowing that I have to show everyone, is really helping me make good choices which are hopefully becoming good habits!!

  1. How sweet of your son to ask you to lunch! :) I wish my parents lived close enough to do that but they're 4 hours away.
